DROP IN: Welcome to LorenzoFi
“There's lo-fi, there's hi-fi, and now there's LorenzoFi.”
Not a full episode. This is the Welcome to LorenzoFi drop-in — the clip that hits play the second a new visitor lands on the app — and if you are hearing it on the regular First Church of Lorenzo feed, here is why it exists.
Lorenzo is an audio snob. He spends real time making this comedy podcast sound the way he wants, then watches platforms smash the pauses, squash the dynamics, and spit out something muddy. After the Spotify fight he asked: why not build a player that leaves the file alone? So he did. Welcome to LorenzoFi.
The name was a working title that stuck. He was going to rename it and never did, then leaned into the line he likes best: there is lo-fi, there is hi-fi, and now there is LorenzoFi. Go to lorenzofi.com, tap Install in the top right, and it lands on your phone, tablet, or desktop. Hit the blinking Play button and this is the first thing that rolls.
What you hear is the original upload, untouched — what the creator intended. No account required. He is not tracking you. Indie shows owned by their creators lead every category (yes, The First Church of Lorenzo sits at the top of Comedy on his own app), and the big national feeds are still there if you want them. Copy shows from Apple or Google without handing him an email; seamless sync across devices is coming, privacy first. Under Books: more than 26,000 LibriVox public-domain audiobooks.
This is Lorenzo from The First Church of Lorenzo, on the player he built for podcasts and audiobooks that should not get jacked with — and for his own show most of all. Stick around, pick a category, find something new, crack an audiobook, and welcome to LorenzoFi.
